All is quiet until the night begins to give way to the dawn. The forest wakes up as the birds sound off in their roosts above you. One bird in particular will get your heart pumping! I grew up in Concord and now live in Alstead, just 30 min north of Keene. I have lived and hunted turkey in different areas of the state and have options for hunts in different regions with a special focus in Cheshire, Sullivan, and Merrimack counties. Hunts take place on both private and public land in NH. I am constantly scouting and working with landowners to ensure the best opportunities and access for our hunts.
Lodging for up to 4 people in a private heated cabin with electricity is available on our property. Hunts include water, coffee, hot breakfast, and snacks. And of course, lots of learning and a fun time!
Trip info
Trips start at 4am and go until 12noon. Rain or shine. Blind-hunting, and mobile hunting options that can be tailored to your wants and abilities, as well as weather. I can accommodate up to 2 hunters per trip. 1 bird per hunter, per trip. Shotgun and archery. For mobile hunting we are on the move sitting against trees or in cover, some people really like having a vest with a lean back style seat attached for added comfort during the hunt. Ticks are an issue during the spring and I do suggest treating your hunting clothing with permethrin prior to the hunt. I find the "Leafy camo lightweight mesh" outer layers to be the most versatile for turkey hunting as they can go over whatever underlayers you might need for the weather that day. i.e. rain coats or rain paints. I am happy to help with any questions you have about gear when preparing for your trip.
WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE:
- NH Hunting License and turkey tag (printed out and in hand)
- Shotgun or Bow and proper ammunition
- Camo gloves, facemask, hat
- Camo jacket and pants treated with Permethrin (tick repellent)
- Water-proof boots
- synthetic underlayers warm enough for cold morning temps, removable for warmer temps in the later part of the morning
- raincoat and rain pants
